The Grand Union Canal

Bordesley is an inner city area just south of Birmingham city centre. Here the Grand Union Canal splits. One branch continues northwards for about two miles to Salford Junction (near Spaghetti Junction, which is where the A38 crosses the M6) where it meets the Tame Valley Canal and the Birmingham and Fazeley Canal. The other branch (the Digbeth Branch) continues for only about half a mile and terminates at Warwick Bar, near Aston University.

Another branch runs from Norton, Northamptonshire, to the River Trent via Leicester.
